InclusivaMente
AAC at the fair
#DS2. Urban Regeneration and IoT for More Inclusive Cities

Project by Isabel Castro Valencia, Martina Petiti, Federica Polverari, Elena Verzelletti, and Sonia Djadi.
InclusivaMente aims to promote Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) in the community and create a network of inclusive commercial entities. Specifically, it involves raising awareness by organizing a fair that brings together local merchants. At their booths, the merchants interact with customers using AAC tools, which can be extremely useful during key stages of product selection and payment.
Through the direct use of these tools, commercial entities can become familiar with AAC and understand how these tools could transform their store into an inclusive environment. At the end of the event, a kit containing materials for their establishment is provided: a payment tool, a guide of best practices, and an exterior sticker signaling an inclusive communication environment.
InclusivaMente is a replicable format that can be easily adapted to different contexts (such as sports associations, cultural organizations, public institutions) to massively disseminate AAC.
