Promoting mental health with innovative services

Cooperativa ITACA, Romano di Lombardia (BG)Associazione MinD, Torino

The workshop “Promoting mental health with innovative services”, is co-designed in collaboration with Cooperativa ITACA, Romano di Lombardia (BG) and Associazione MinD, a Turin-based association.

In a world increasingly subject to political, social and environmental changes, it is important to support the educational growth of adolescents, providing them with educational tools and innovative services that accompany them on a path of identity development, protecting their psychophysical well-being.

The Design Sprint dedicated to this E.T.S. is part of the new projects of the educational area for minors (11-18 years).

The challenge is to think of a new space for adolescents and young people, which can become a place of training (and not of care) for the psychological well-being and psychophysical health of adolescents.
The mission of a place focused not on critical issues, but on protective factors, offering pre-adolescents and adolescents opportunities for well-being, self-efficacy and empowerment.

The proposals can include interaction with digital tools, the creation of communication campaigns to intercept users; the creation of event formats as extra services to be provided in the space.

Design challenges

#1. Accessibility of space and offered services

Designing the accessibility of the space and its services through communication campaigns, digital tools, or digital and non-digital promotion strategies.

#2. Innovative space-related services

Designing innovative services that can support the development of specific life skills for adolescents and adults through a mix of physical and digital tools.

#3. Active community involvement

Designing ways to involve the community within the space, through the creation of event formats, extra services to be provided within the space, and communication campaigns aimed at reducing stigma surrounding mental health.
